How to Play MPG and MPEG Files on Kindle Fire HD

Kindle Fire HD can't recognize MPG and MPEG files? In the short article below, i will address this question for you to view MPG or MPEG movies on Kindle Fire HD flawlessly. Check it out.

According to the Kindle Fire HD's spec, we learn that Kindle Fire HD only can support playing videos in MP4, 3GP, VP8 format. The reason you cannot get MPG or MPEG videos on playable on Kindle Fire HD is simple: the default and downloaded player on the Jelly bean tablet cannot find a suitable decoder for the file. Assuming that you want to play MPG or MPEG files on your Kindle Fire HD tablet, you may have to encode or re-encode MPG/MPEG to a friendly format, say MP4 for Kindle Fire HD. With some help from 3rd-party software, you can easily get the work done.

Video conversion app varies. You may be confused about choosing a most suitable one. If so, I highly recommended you try Pavtube Video Converter. It is easy to use for conversion and editing and makes great quality copies of any format videos. With it, you can effortlessly convert MPG/MPEG to Kindle Fire HD supported video formats with fast speed and high quality. Just download it and follow the easy steps to put MPG/MPEG files on Kindle Fire HD.

Free Download Kindle Fire HD Video Converter:

(Download here if you using Mac 10.5 or 10.6)

Guide: Converting MPG/MPEG to MP4 for Kindle Fire HD

Step 1: After downloading, install and run the Video Converter on your PC, then click "Add Video" button to load your MPG/MPEG files. You can also add videos formatted in MKV, FLV, AVI, MTS, WMV, TiVo, MXF, VRO, VOB and more. The software supports batch conversion so you can convert several files in one go.

Step 2: Choose the output format. Click "Format" bar, you can get optimized videos for Kindle Fire HD under Android > Amazon Kindle Fire HD H.264(*.mp4). The output videos could fit on your device perfectly.

Tips: If you like, you can click "Settings" to change the video encoder, resolution, frame rate, etc. as you wish. According to my experience, the file size and video quality is based more on bitrate than resolution which means bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss, and vice versa. For watching videos on Kindle Fire HD, 720p with 2000~2500kbps is just all right.

Step 3: After above settings, you can start the MPG/MPEG to Kindle Fire HD MP4 conversion. Once the process completes, locate the files and transfer and copy the converted MP4 videos to your Amazon tablets. As you see, now you can effortlessly watch MPG/MPEG videos on your Kindle Fire HD.
