    Smile no wi fi or internet service how do i read the books on my kindle fire

    We were at our cabin today and when I tried to read the books on my kindle fire it kept telling me that there was not any wi fi. Is there a `way to download to the internal memory. I have searched the help pages but did not find any help.

    In fact your book may already be on the Fire. When you go to the book shelf tap the 'device' button. If the books are not there then the next time you have a wifi connection tap the 'sync' button in the control bar, this should load your books from the cloud to the device.

    Thank you - this is the exact reason I joined the forum. I've synced, now hoping tomorrow to test it without a wifi connection. Thank you.

    you can always just turn wifi off and then make sure the books are readable from the device....just remember to tap device. Same thing for apps and other documents.

    If you see the cover of your book and it has a small arrow on it, then you will still need to download the entire book to your Kindle Fire while you have wi-fi; after the download, you will be able to read it later while your off-line.
