Some Basic Functionality Questions for the New Kid On The Block

    Hi,

Just received the Fire as a gift & haven't had time to play around with it yet. Know I'll be able to read & stream media, but will I be able to read/send email, check my task list, contacts & calendar (all currently in Outlook), access FB & Pinterest too? I'm brand new to tablets and never got a smartphone, so looking for some insights re: what I will & won't be able to do. I'm a SAHM whose constantly on the run, and looking to simplify my life & utilize my downtime while carpooling, etc. Can I upload files to work on, or are there security concerns with doing so? Any guidance/advice/recommendations you can make would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks so much!!

I've found that I can do most things on my Kindle Fire that I do on my laptop as long as I have wifi.
