New Member Question Kindle Fire and Disney World WIFI?

New member Here, Have a Kindle e reader and thinking about getting a Kindle Fire for our vacation trip to Disney world this Feb. Since Kindle Fire ie WIFI only And evry thing is stored on CLOUD?

Question DISNEy World does NOT allow or have Free WIFI anywhere in resort (except the converntion centers) you can get Inertnet contections in your room but that runs from $10 and hour to $40 a day.

Will i be able download my Cloud stuff and Apps?? There is a McDonalds in downtown Disney but it doesn,t offer free WiFi either.

Has any body used there Kindle Fire at Disney world? With what results?

Thank you Ed in Ann Arbor

    Welcome to the forum
At those prices you might look at a pre paid mifi. Virgin Mobile service is $50 a month for unlimited data, uses the Sprint network so there should be plenty of signal.
I've seen the actual devices for mifi from $70- $99 at different stores

Just so you know Disney is Verizon and other carriers can be very weak.
I cannot believe that for what they charge for rooms you don't get free wifi. All the other motels around Disney offer it.

But also to answer the 2nd part of your question you can download files, books, music and apps to your Fire and not use the Wifi. 8GB however so not much video. Download a few books and a couple games....how much time will you really spend on your Fire at Disney World anyway? Set your 'out of the office' message on your email and fugedahaboudit.

After checking in some of the Disney Forums, the reason for no WiFi in Disney World is so that you spend your time and money enjoying the park.
Grandparents don't want to take grandchildren to the park, just to have play on thier phones laptops tables etc.. So that's why internet access is limited to your room.
I just wanted to know if I'm sitting on the beach or by a pool I can read or access the web.

    Thanks for the replys

    UPDATE to thread:
I finally got my Fire two weeks ago, two days before I went to Disney.
Arriving at Disney I found out that since Jan. of this year WIFI is now available thru out Disney theme parks.
I am still learning how to navigate on the FIRE, sometimes it is NOT readlly apparent, I miss my tool bars at the Top.
