I believe the three ways you can organize your books would be to divide them into Favorites, Carousel and Books.....without rooting....that gives you three options...
From all that I've seen so far there isn't a way to do this. You would think that Amazon would have incorporated a better organization system for books on the Fire (they are a bookseller after all) but apparently not. I'd love to know if a smart developer out there learns of this need and makes an app for Kindle Fire bookworms. If so I'd share that with my site followers! Whoever develops an app like that will make some good money too.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

This is a disappointment. I've got quite a few books, the ability to organize them in ways useful to me is an important feature on my other Kindle, the one with a keyboard. With the Fire, I'm doomed to endless scrolling.I hope there is or will be an app to restore the organizational functionality of the keyboard Kindle to the Fire. Or maybe a software upgrade dare I hope?
My Kindle Touch just got it in the latest update to it. Amazon is aware that this is a big want and hopefully the next Fire update will have it.
I haven't messed with it but I read you can categorize them on the website. Wonder if they'd show up on the Fire. When I get a chance I'll look at seeing if that option will work.

Yes, we really need to be able to organize our books properly. I don't think the online organization affects the Fire, but I haven't tried it so I don't know for sure. I'll have to try it out as well.
Thanks!
