I know this my sound too simple; but I guest its possible. There is a lock; unlock icon on the fire (the original) that can turn off the way the fire senses landscape or portrait mode. Hit the gear on the top right of the opening screen and it is all the way on the top left of the screen that appears. Maybe you accidently hit it; I know I have hit several wrong icons and had to go back and correct the problem.
Worth a try, anyway. fdalbor
