Hoping to Learn More About My New Kindle Fire

Hello all, I am a certified Apple user (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac computer) but am curious about this little inexpensive Android based device that Amazon has sold me. I do have the Kindle app on my iOS devices, but there are some features that are Kindle only, and I want to make use of those.

I am impressed so far (one day of use), but am having some problems downloading some apps (Dropbox for example). I hope to find some answers on the forum.

    Welcome to the forum.
On your browser, go to 1mobilemarket site, download their app. Go to Amazon app store and grab ES File Explorer app (free) . Go into your Fire settings, device, enable allow other apps. Open ES File Explorer and look in downloads folder for the app you downloaded and install it, following its prompts. Open the 1mobilemarket app you just installed, grab Dropbox from there. That app works very much like the Amazon market app and you will find many apps that work fine on a Fire but aren't on the Amazon market.
Hope that helps and here's the link to get you started.

    Thanks mountainbikermark,

I did as you said, downloaded both apps, after I "bought" ES file Explorer I got a message "where's my app" "go to app store for android to download your app". When I went there, I cannot see any way to download apps I have "bought"!!
