Speakers/volume doesn't work after installing sound manager app

I recently downloaded and installed a sound managing/locking app to lock the volume to a certain level, because the volume was being accidentally increased all the time, and a few other reasons. After doing this, the sound was stuck off all the time, and I was unable to let it be locked to say, 60%, or even unlock it completely. I've since uninstalled the application, and rebooted the kindle, but it still won't emit any sound. Any way I can fix it myself?

Which Kindle Fire do you have? Which type of sound does it not play? Music, videos, movies, all sound, from any type of player. Can you still go in an adjust the volumn level using the Gear icon, or does it not do anything when you try to adjust it.

If you can't get an answer here try the Amazon customer forum the address is http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle ; it has a massive help forum. I use it quite a bit myself. fdalbor

We have the kindle fire HD. It doesn't play any kind of sound as far as I can tell. Headphones don't help. In the pull down/notifications menu, you can drag around the volume, but it won't actually effect the output level.

EDIT: Doing a factory reset now.

    EDIT: Volume works now

Glad to see things worked out for you. Tablets (all of them) are pretty new to most people and they require a different outlook that what we did with computers. Plus the fact that they use a different OS (android) than desktops, laptops and netbooks, makes them a bit harder to fine answers to some of the problems that happen. If you ever really get in a bind you can call Amazon's help line at 1-877-453-4512, its toll free. fdalbor
