Kindle fire HD 16gb not connecting to wi-fi

I got my kindle for Christmas and have had problems with wi-fi on it from the start i am currently revising for my a-level exams and find the kindle great until i go on the web if i go on YouTube and watch a video silk crashes if i go on Facebook i get the little silver cross i have tried re-booting the kindle, re-setting the network, forgetting network, turning off the kindle and the network. when I've had these network problems my laptop, phone, mums laptop and my sisters iPad and my phone are all connected with very few issues we rarely had problems with the network before i got this kindle now i have trouble almost every day on it

have even tried only connecting the kindle and it still crashed

just wondering if anyone else has these problems and if there is a quick fix i.e uninstalling silk or something
