I read Chuck Palahniuks 'Damned' last week and it was only so-so compared to his other books. Currently reading Hunger Games, after that I might check the ice man that was recommended above!

I am new to the forum and I bought my Kindle a couple of weeks ago and have been browsing through the under $3.99 cent stuff on Amazon just to get a feel for how the tablet performs.

In the process I ran across and purchased some good ones. I like action/adventure books similar to what Clancy and Koonz write so I started there.

My first read was called Deadly Straits by R.E. Mcdermott. An excellent first effort by this author and I highly recommend it for Action readers. The price has gone up to 2.99 from it's original .99 but it is well worth the price. The author is also very approachable and I have exchanged several e-mails with him. The story centers around an effort to blow up a oil tanker in the Bosphorus Straits and the efforts by the protagonists to pull it off and the people that try to keep it from happening. Hard to put down once you start it. It can be found here:
Amazon.com: Deadly Straits (For Tom Clancy & W.E.B. Griffin fans) eBook: R.E. McDermott: Kindle Store

Next was Running of the Bulls by Christopher Smith. This one is also at 2.99 but worth the price. It deals with a Wall Street crook who was sent to jail for his crimes and is now taking revenge on all of those that sent him there. A private P.I. and a woman seeking revenge against the crook are out to solve the puzzle of who is doing the killing and also figuring out what the connection is between all of the victims other than having testified against the man. Fast paced with a lot of action and suspense. It can be found here:
Amazon.com: Running of the Bulls (A Wall Street Thriller) (Book Two in the Fifth Avenue Series) eBook: Christopher Smith: Kindle Store

I am currently reading Brainrush by Richard Bard. Again, another action thriller and another very approachable author. This first effort by the author deals with a dying man who has a weird episode while having a MRI done and how the results affect him in a very strange way from that point forward. So far it looks to be a page turner and his second book, Brainrush II was just released yesterday. The first book is still listed at .99 and the new release is at 2.99. The first book can be found here:
Amazon.com: BRAINRUSH, a Thriller (Book One) eBook: Richard Bard: Kindle Store

I look forward to reading more reviews of these types of books here as time goes on and will be sure to share those that I find that are worth reading.

The BEST two books I have read on my Kindle are "Testament" by John Grisham and "The Race" by Clive Cussler

I bought that in hard cover when it first came out. For my new Kindle Fire that I bought last week I got iWoz, the other side of the Apple creation.

Amazon.com: iWoz: Computer Geek to Cult Icon eBook: Steve Wozniak, Gina Smith: Books
