A little advice for those of you on the fence about ordering - 1. Amazon does not charge until item is shipped. 2. Amazon has a 30 day return policy. I'm willing to bet that these will sell out prior to Xmas and people will be scalping them on eBay.

I'm waiting. There are reports of a 10" tablet before Christmas - supposedly for $299. That's the tablet I want. There's also the possibility of a Nook Color 2 in the next month or so.

I had heard they put the 10 inch on hold pending how well this one sold.

I couldn't help myself. I ordered it "for my husband." I have a xoom, which i love, but I think my husband's head might have exploded if I bought myself a second tablet...to go along with my netbook, laptop, and Kindles (I'm a teacher and my husband bought me a second Kindle to use at school). He's not much of a computer guy but he does have a net book and a Kindle. So i bought the Fire for his birthday. :-)

I don't think they'll have any problem at all selling them. I'm concerned that they might do too well. Supposedly they're losing money on each device. If too many people buy them and decide not to buy content from Amazon, that could be a huge loss

I doubt that'll happen. If each tablet sold only generates one or two ebook sales, they'll be in the black.
