Second Generation Kindle Fire Tablet Expected Second Half of 2012

They haven't even released the Kindle Fire to retailers yet, and reports indicate that Amazon is planning to release a successor to the device in the second half of next year. Foxconn has already secured orders for the device, and are developing it with that time-frame in mind. There is no word on if this will be the 10-inch, "Hollywood" version that has been rumored before, or if this will simply be an improved version of the 7-inch Kindle Fire. Current speculation is that this tablet is the 10-inch version we heard about, and will come with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core chip.

They will probably get a new tablet out by Q3/Q4, which is expected. By then we will be talking about the next one, it is an ongoing thing with technology.

I am not really interested on a 10 in version, 7 provides the portability I need

    I agree.
7 is what I'm looking for but I can see how a 10 inch would appeal to many.

I think Amazon has a good plan in giving people a choice from pure black and white readers to full color tablets of various sizes.

Amazon must be confident in their product! That's a good thing...

    Agreed.
I think they have good reason to be.

both ... confident for sure. u gotta give the consumers what they want. but I also agree on keeping the dimensions to less than 8.

Wonder how long I should wait before I consider getting one. Got caught on a price drop before and am getting to be a little cautious. Better features always make a person want the next thing in line.

Actually, the possibility of a future 10" tablet is the one thing that had me considering cancelling my preorder. But if it's not going to be out until late next year I'll go ahead and pick up the 7" to tide me over for now.
