Barnes & Noble Throws Water on Kindle Fire, Pulls DC Graphic Novels from Shelves

Looks like the Amazon Kindle Fire is already causing some controversy. Amazon recently made a deal with DC Comics to have 100 graphic novels released exclusively on the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. Thatís great news for the Kindle Fire, but not everyone is happy about it.

Barnes & Noble is not happy about this news, since they have been unsuccessful in getting DC Comics to release any of their graphic novels on B&Nís tablet. So, when they heard the news, what did they do? They got childish and decided to throw a fit. Barnes & Noble has instructed its retail outlets to pull those 100 graphic novels from their shelves. The idea is that if they canít sell them digitally, they wonít sell them period. Or at least, they wonít give them shelf space.

The list of the 100 Kindle Fire exclusives includes titles like Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, Sandman, Fables, Blackest Night, All Star Superman, Y The Last Man, and V For Vendetta to name a few. Customers can still order them from B&Nís website and over the counter. They just have to be delivered to your home.

Not too surprising. They're in a freefall with their retail stores and bleeding cash, so it makes crude sense that they would adopt an attitude to reduce available content. Bad decisions seem the norm for them.

Lose more revenue on purpose and give Amazon another leg up. That'll teach Amazon to mess with them won't it . Nah nah nah nah nah naaaaah . They aren't taking their ball and going home. They are giving the ball away then going home. What's next? Tattle to Apple and tell them to sue Amazon for making a rectangular device with a touch screen like they did Samsung ?

Poor B&N -- they can no longer play ball with Amazon as they are no longer in the same ballpark. Amazon has clout, B&N does not.
