Accidentally hitting the power button? Get a case.

Been monitoring the KF reviews on Amazon for awhile and noted the repeated complaints about accidentally turning off the power button. I was somewhat puzzled by these complaints since I realized I hadn't hit the power button accidentally even once since the day after I received the KF. No need to "turn it upside down." Just never happens.

How come? Simple. I added a Marware hybrid case to the KF a day or so after getting it. One of the unexpected benefits is that the one of the tabs that holds the KF in the case is next to the power button making it virtually impossible to turn the device off accidentally. Not sure if other cases provide the same functionality, but this one does.

Yep, my Poetic PU leather case does this for $8. Excellent tip.

I still haven't encountered power button problems. But yes many covers/cases work well enough to keep the power button from shutting off accidental.

LOL.....I have a new KF. of course when you get it you plug it in and it automatically turns on. I placed it in its Case after this then used it for awhile. When it came time to turn the unit off I could not locate the on/off button as it was close to the clip that holds the unit into the case.

You'll also quickly learn that the bezel is slightly thicker on the bottom of the KF than the top. Keeps me from holding it upside down.

Just a heads up that our original Kindle Fire Garrison™ case is now $5! It includes an anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protector. Here's the link: Garrison Premium Folio Case For Amazon Kindle Fire
