    Difficulty Charging Kindle

    hi.
I'm new to this forum and looking for help with my kindle 10.
Over the last few days I had difficulty in charging my kindle.
Tried rebooting and other chargers as well as charging through my pc but still my kindle is very slow in charging up.
It has only charged 3% in 2hrs.

I have another kindle fire which is powering up ok.

    Any advice would be grateful.

It depends, how old is the kindle, batteries have a pre defined life of so many charging cycles and are also dependent to some extent one use, ie not leaving it on charge for hours days at time and not continually running it flat.

It may be that the battery has simply expired its useful life. In which case, you are left with the options of only using it when plugged in, buying and fitting a new battery or buying an accessory battery. Or if still in warrantee of returning it.

I have a phone that much the same, it takes hours to get to 10%, but then speeds up a bit and will get to something like full charge after 12hours, i just put up with it and carry a battery when out and about as it returns to little charge very quickly.

Before you convince yourself its the battery, rule out the charger, usb cable or more likely the usb cable not fitting correctly at one end or the other. , give it a wriggle to see if the charging knocks of and on, they are prone to wear at the end that goes in the kindle, they can certainly go to defect in a few months, if you plug and unplug them fairly often, a new decent quality lead is a sound investment, and worth a try before any other action

The kindle was bought new in Nov 2017.
But the connection moves when inserting the usb into it.

I think that might well be your problem, it shouldnt be wagling about, , it should be firm when its plugged in , buy a new cable( a decent one) and hopefully all will be well. Unless you mean the bit inside the kindle moves, that's not good

    Update for future reference.
After chatting live to 6 different technical people I am now being sent a replacement Kindle.

The problem was within the device connection.

This may be helpful to others who may come across the same problem.

Amazon leads are,NOT the best quality by some distance, they should last the warranty period, however if your use involves much greater than average plugging and unplugging, then they can easily be worn out in 4/5/6 months.

What have they decieded is the problem?

    Grannymac,
I may have the same issue, my Kindle Fire 10 also purchased in Nov 2017. Battery is down to 8%, and when plugged into a charger indicates it is Charging but does not charge. I switched chargers to no avail. The same chargers work just fine on my older Kindle. What is the contact phone for your Amazon live support? I cannot find anything.
    Thanks.
