Can no longer connect to wifi on kindle fire

All of a sudden I can"t connect to wifi. 4G. My laptop works fine.When I hit the icon up top it shows wireless networking off.I click it to on and then it switches back to off.I"ve repeated this about 20 times.Also it is not showing any wireless connections in my are at all including mine.It worked fine for the first 2 weeks until last night. I'm not a wiz with sort of thing so any help would be greatly appreciated. JimDinNC

Mine did this once. I think I had to reboot the thing by holding.g the power button for 30 seconds.

definately try the re-boot....it is usually not the unit(fire) it is the connection that is the problem.

I am sorry but there is definitely a problem with the wi-fi connection on some of these Fire's. Mine will not hold a connection. I am on my lap top now next to the Fire and showing VG signal with 54 mbps. The Fire will go from no bars to 3 or 4 bars to no bars. Really bad.

Reboot the router

While the KF may be the source of the problem, it IS more likely to be a router issue. And that may still be the case even if another device connects and runs fine. Disconnect and reconnect the router and make sure it's working with the laptop before pursuing the diagnosis of the KF.

Had this problem before. Had to reboot the Kindle Fire and set wifi again. So far, I have not been having any problems.

So my kindle fire kept losing wifi even though I had not shut it off. In a search someone suggested holding power button for 30 seconds and trying again. That did not seem to work so searched again and found someone else saying hold power button two times for at least 20 seconds. Do this while player is off. This has worked for me. Although I had this problem before and kept trying to hook up my wireless connection with input of ssid and password and after many many many attempts it still would not connect. So hope this is easy fix if my wifi goes out again. I guess we need a patch?
