Can 16GB Fire 7 Tablet Connect To A Monitor?

several samsung folks have been telling me for weeks that i can connect my samsung tablet to a monitor. they were all wrong. the tablets do not have MHL - whatever that is...

so before buying the All-New Fire 7 Tablet (7" display, 16 GB) and Micro USB to HDMI Cable Haokiang 3Ft/1M Micro USB Male to HDMI Male Data Charging Cord Converter Adapter Cable - thought it prudent to ask the experts if this will work!
we have a micro sd card with the 256gb of avi files on it that we wish to see on a monitor (with built in speakers) ViewSonic VX2252mh 22.
    thanks for your help everyone.

PS I have read three books on this tablet. no help whatsoever.

No, they will however cast to a firestick, if you have wifi ( and so will the sams7ng)and quite probably any other streaming box, but not a chromecast with out a lot of messing about, so provided you r monitor has a hdmi socket you can watch your films in high defintion.

    Wireless, it's the future

Nb the more expensive Samsung's will connect by wire, you need to check the spec on the Samsung web site, as will my very cheap nokia phone

Most 5hinks will cast to a streaming box, which leaves you the whole world of devices to choose from, if you have a smart phone you can probably already do this., if your going the samsung route then a chromecast will work and it's very simple to set up, unlike the fire stick, which requires you to have an amazon account. Though I think its higher quality pictures

You need to bear in mind that some devices will require you to reformat the card, wiping all the content, meaning you need to put in on again from a computer or a cloud storage unit. My nokia does this, I understand the latest fires do, but my Samsung does not. Your looking for a device that supports exFAT format

I've no idea if the fire stick reports, back and dont really care

we do not have a smart phone.
please send a link to what kind of chromecast thing you mean. chromebook?
    thanks for your patient help!

ViewSonic VX2252mh 22” does NOT have a USB socket! so no dongle will plug in!

No uts needs a hdmi which you say it has .?

What ever your typing this on will prob3bly cast to it, if it's a computer, then you can hard wire to the monitor

Chromecast is Google's version of a fire stick

Here a link to Google page on it

I'm in the uk, so you may need to search it yourself for local pricing

chromecast works with the android tablet i already have.
even better when i removed the google home app which insisted on listening to everything.
Cast web Video app does the job.

thanks for all your help jobo
