Thanks for the info on 1mobile.
I also like the Opera Mobile browser the best. There is only one complaint I have with it. One cannot go to Amazon to Manage Apps. An error message states that javascript must be turned on even thought Opera has javascript on. Other than that, 2 thumbs up for Opera Mobile.
It's good to know about 1Mobile, but you can also download Opera Mobile directly from Opera's website; many apps not available at the Amazon App Store can be downloaded from the developers' own sites. Besides 1Mobile.com, Getjar.com and SlideMe Market are also Android app stores that can be installed on the Fire.
I also use Dolphin HD. It's what I use on my phone and since it works great on my KF I haven't bothered with anything else.
Sorry, I am a new KFire owner. Just bought it this weekend. I have read a little about 1Mobile today but can someone claify. Are you saying go to 1Mobile.com to get apps or is there a 1Mobile app that you can install on your Kindle Fire? If so, how do you get the 1Mobile App?
I used my browser to go to the 1mobile web page dowloded their app. Once you have the app on your KF when you open it it takes you to the site where you can download the apps. Hit the menu button at the bottom to open a search window for a particular app. The apps download directly to you KF - make sure you go to device settings to allow install of unknown ....
Since the last update (enabling full-screen view), I am now using the stock browser 100% of the time.
+1 Dolphin HD gestures rock
