GIGAOM reports: Kindle Fire no longer blocks Android Market website

Trust that I'm not violating any site rules, but wanted everyone to know... plus curious if anyone knows if 6.2.1 is really making a difference. Has anyone tried to SILK to Market? Can we sideload Market onto KF? Loads of questions....

If 6.2.1 only did one thing and that is allowing you to to move items from your carousel it was a great update...

Isn't this the news story which was reported like 3+ weeks ago? Thank you for sharing with us.
As for the most recent update-- I have noticed absolutely no difference in the device's performance or behavior. The claimed updates did not manifest in reality. The only differences are the addition of wifi password and "remove from carousel" feature.

The updates helped the performance of my fire. The scrolling issues for one are gone. I can type with my fingers now. I have been using a stylus since the first week.

You can get to the market but you can't install apps from there. When You try it sends you to the Amazon App Store and if it doesn't have it you're outta luck.

Since it costs 2.4 to produce a penny, my 2 worth is really 4.8 worth.

The update definately helped with the performance on my Fire. One thing that is still slow though is the browser. I waited 5 minutes for a page to come up. got frustrated. Picked up my wife's Ipad and the page loaded in about 2 seconds. About a half hour later I picked up my Fire and saw that the page had loaded at some point.
