Is the Fire capable of taking screen shots non rooted?

Since this will be my daughters I won't be doing anything like root and want to leave it alone as much as possible.
That being said my wife keeps asking if the Fire has built in screen capture and if not will the non root screen shot app work? I don't see it on the Amazon store so side load would be how I'd install it
Edit: I just found kindleworld.blogspot.com/ where the poster says just hold the home button, tap the screen while holding the home button
Can someone see if this works or not? Hers is wrapped already so I can't do it without encurring the wrath of Kaeen (my wife)
    Thank You

    That doesn't appear to work.

I use Dolphin Browser HD which has an add on called Screen Cut. It can screen capture or capture just what you want on the screen.

keaddy, does it capture any Kindle Fire screen or just pages being viewed in the browser?

For those who are still interested, I was able to setup a way to capture screens from my KF without rooting it. (See my website for lots of examples of pictures from my personal tablet.) I do have to plug it into my computer to use the software to capture screens, but that works fine for me since I want the pics on my PC for my website. I followed the tutorial at the site below to be able to do this. It took some figuring out, but I eventually got it all setup. Works perfectly!
