Hi there, I'm a little confused about a couple of things
1) Am I correct that you cannot get the Android Market without rooting ?
2) Once you get the Android market does this handle apps you have previously purchased? So if I purchase an app from the market I can use it on the Fire providing the market is installed
3) What happens if I sideload a purchased app from the Android Market onto my Fire without installing the Android Market.
Thanks for the help.

I've found that all the apps that I expected to work on the Fire worked just fine after I rooted and installed the Google Market app so I could install them. If you have access to the .apk files and can sideload them that's easier and rooting is not required.
Apps that won't work are generally those that expect hardware or services that Amazon doesn't provide. You can't use any phone functions except Contacts, no Google location services, no GPS, no camera. Also Amazon has hidden some settings that would be required to use an alternate keyboard, although they apparently work just fine if you can get past that little problem.
Thanks guys. I'm still asking though, what if I purchased an app from the Google market. Can I sideload it to Fire ? Does it work if I root and install the Google market.
Is there somewhere to get apps to sideload besides Getjar?
Sorry answer: most likely no. Long answer: many paid for apps "check in" with the Android market when they start to make sure they are licensed. Some don't. Obviously if you sideload an app that checks in and you don't have the Android market it will fail.

The majority of the apps I've purchased from Android market and sideloaded to Fire (not rooted) work just fine. I've only had a couple that looked for the appstore on the device to verify.
I need help with how to sideload :x
im new to this thing, and do I have to root to sideload?
