Issue with what is displayed on Fire home screen

Got my Fire last night and after playing with it for a while I have a concern about how items are displayed on the opening screen. It looks to me like all items bought thru your account be it App's, Books, etc are shown via the Cloud.

I have 2 concerns with this:

    1) Over the years I have collected over 1400 books and it appears all of these are being shown on the opening screen. This is making it confusing and cluttered.
    2) Some of the books I don't want shown due to either content or suggestive covers.

Has anyone found a way to filter what is shown? I would be happy if only the items on the device where shown like happens with the Kindle app on my iPad.

I am in contact with Kindle support about this and will report back any response they give.

    Thanks,

    Bill

So far, I've been able to 'delete from device' (long-press) which removed it from Fire, but still resides in my Library. Haven't found a way to clear carousel, or found its limits. Anyone?

I agree that having the carousel show EVERYTHING is not a good thing. I have also been trying to find a way to control what is shown. No luck so far.

I hope the ability is there somewhere, and if not, I hope they put of on soon.

The cluttered carousel is the only real gripe I have thus far. That, and the fact that anything you have recently opened gets placed at the in-your-face front of the line. I would welcome a software/firmware update to change this.

If anything, this carousel should have been towards the bottom, instead of on top...but what do I know!?!

edit: OR...simply have the carousel limited to the last 10 items?

I don't have any objection to its position but the (assumed) unlimited number of items it displays can quickly become ridiculous. I loaded a stack of books but think I'll slow down on adding content until I figure out a work-around, if one exists.

Surely, someone at Amazon already has made similar comments.

Really, there are few cons, IMHO, and that's only because we're a finnicky bunch! You are going to love the device and the resolution/quality/selection of lockscreen images will absolutely blow you away. You won't be disappointed!
