I like it so far - great screen and apps seem to run well.

Did anybody get a cover in their box? The LA TImes has a video of un-boxing the Fire and shows a cover that came with it. I did not get one in mine.

UPS just delivered mine @ 2:55 pm est. Alas, I cannot open her up now as she is a Christmas gift from my wifey. So, no joy for now. I must be content with all of your
experiences for now!! So, please be thorough! Earlier, I watched Buzz Out Loud on Cnet and they demonstrated the KF....Oh! the anticipation will mount hourly!

No cover here, just the unit, power adapter and a piece of paper telling you how to
charge it.

No. There are no covers included. What you probably saw was the video of the "special" units given to the press and some tech sites in advance for review.

I got mine delivered to the office around 2 or so. It is almost completely charged and ready to go. I have installed a few non-standard apps already and they seem to be playing nice so far. I installed Dropbox from their website and then from there I installed an app that I have been developing for a while now to see if it worked and it works just fine as well.

I will be playing with it more when I get home tonight and after volleyball, but so far I am very pleased with the device. Screen looks fantastic! Everything sync'd to it right from the moment I turned it on. I still need to setup Netflix and then see if I can get HBOGo and MaxGo on it as well.

Got it here in southern Arizona about 2 hrs. ago. Updated after turning on. Generally pretty happy (granted - it's pretty early on). I notice some hesitation when tapping and seem to have to give it a pretty serious punch sometimes before it responds. Will update later.
