I doubt that Apple will make a smaller version of the iPad. the current model is only a 9.7" screen what good would a 7" screen tab provide except improved portability. I don't see it fitting in to Apples sales line up as i think it would detract form the iTouch sales.

I don't believe Apple would come out with a smaller iPad either. Yet if I was now in control I'd sure look into the possibility. a 6" 4:3 iPad with the same resolution as the current one would stand out from all the 7" tablets. Apple might be able to sell one for 2/3 the current price ($329 or so). iOS 5 would run the same as would all the apps and media. Everyone who wanted but couldn't justify a $500 iPad would jump all over it. iOS users with iTunes accounts would double. And so on.

"Mini" not in terms of screen size but mini as in a stripped down cheaper IPad.

    I can totally see it.

Without Steve around to nix the board members I can see Apple starting to cut corners to enhance profits for the shareholders even more. My question is which will get cut first, customer support or hardware quality? If I was a betting man my money would be on customer support

Now we need an app that changes the Fire's UI to iOS when you blow on (out) the Fire. Shake it to start the Fire UI again.
