Verizon has stuck their noses up at anything pre pay for years but since they are only making a bazillion in profits per quarter over the last couple of years they've had to hold their nose and offer a halfway decent pre pay option now.

Think not. I happened across the reference on engadget, I believe. You might try again tomorrow.

I got prepaid internet access from Virgin when it was still only $40 a month for unlimited. Although it is only 3G, I'm very satisfied with it, after dealing with Sprint and their never-ending price increases, throttling, and threats.

Lo and behold the link is still problematic but it is indeed there on verzons website now. It took about half a dozen clicks deeper into the abyss called Verizon.com but it is there now and the data plans appear as a pop up when clicked. Yesterday the only prepay units were $270.

Welcome to the world of the Verizon Wireless website! I'm beginning to feel guilty for ever mentioning the deal.

At least for the moment it's at...
