I use the 3g hotspot feature on my Verizon Wireless Droid Incredible 2. It's very reliable. Not as fast as my wifi at home (with Time Warner Road Runner service), but adequate. For general web browsing, it's fine. And I can stream video most of the time, if needed.

Short of getting a phone, I'm looking for a basic dedicated portable 'hotspot' device.
