*Amazon Kindle Fire Easy [UN]Root Guide*

I cant take any responsibility for this one nor have I tried it but the methodology is flawless and everyone is reporting that it works over at XDA. So here is the abridged guide to UNROOTING your Kindle Fire for windows:

    ~*Tools*~
    Only one this time:

ADB Download this and unzip it to a folder on your C:/ drive. Ideally C:/ADB

    ~*Method*~
Step 1. Open up your command prompt (Start menu>Applications>Command Prompt)
    Step 2. Type:
    Code:
    cd \adb
(Assuming you installed it to C:/ADB) Press enter
    Step 3. Type:
    Code:
    adb shell
    Press Enter
    Step 4. Copy and Paste:
    Code:
    mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    Press Enter
    Step 5. Type:
    Code:
    rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
    Press Enter
    then
    Code:
    rm /system/bin/su
    Press Enter
    then
    Code:
    rm /system/xbin/su
    Press Enter
(Depending on the method you used to root your device, one of those will not work. Dont fret it, I listed both as a precaution)
    then
    Code:
    reboot
    press enter

Done! Now your device is unrooted. You will still be able to reroot at any time after this. If you have any issues please let me know and I will try to help you out. As I mentioned I have not tried this yet but XDA is confirming that it works.

Assuming you rooted with SuperOneClick, [ROOT][ONE-CLICK] How-To Get ADB running AND Root with SuperOneClick - xda-developers , why not use the Unroot button from the same program? Doesn't that do the same thing?

My understanding is that using the unroot buttom from one-click still leaves files on your device that would show that it had been rooted. Using this method removes all files from the rooting process. Also this method works with ANY process used to root your device.

I am running Windows 8. Everytime I type adb shell I get 'device not found'. I have gone into settings and ensured that 'Allow Installation of Applications' is ON. Can you help?
