Lightbulb adb issues solved-- how to root

    hi all,
    new guy here,my first post..,

so i had same problems with adb it just would not work. eg show any devices
which means it is not installed correctly.
this is what i did..(assuming you have android SDK installed)

    open adb_usb.ini with notepad
    (add on one line each!)
    0x1949
    0x006
    save file
NOTE:i followed the instructions and tried 'adb device' about 6 times
with no device returned until i added the 0x006.

    then go here follow instructions!
How to install Kindle Fire adb USB driver?
do the check described to see if you have the usb driver installed

then read this about KFU 9.3
    Kindle Fire Utility v0.9.3 (2/4/12) - xda-developers

    download KFU 9.3
    http://random.kennocha.com/kindle/ut...ity_v0.9.3.zip
install & follow the on screen instructions
i did option 2 and was rooted & in no time
    downloading files from android market

just did the usb driver again on the home computer so it worked
both times for me good luck!

you might want to download 'Voodoo OTA RootKeeper'
    https://market.android.com/details?i....otarootkeeper
it goes on your kindle(no need to usb the kindle) and you can switch from rooted to un rooted
so you can use amazon instant videos

Do you have to be in fast boot mode to choose an option or just choose ....lets say option 3. Permanent root? ?? I'm just about to pull the trigger in rooting my kindle.

    Thanks a lot.
