    Sideloading Fire HD 6

    I have a Fire HD 6, OS version 5.3.3.0.
I reset the device to factory settings, enabled Install Unknown sources, and ADB in Developer options.

But I cannot for the life of me get the "Install" button to respond on any apk. I can't even install
    kingroot.

There are plenty of suggestions on the internet, but they don't address the Fire HD 6.

So I need to emphasize I'm using Fire HD 6. Not a phone. Fire HD 6.

All I've installed so far is ES file Explorer, ColorNote, and My Radar.
    That's it.

Do you know a sure-fire way to get my apk's to install?

I figured it out today, so I'll explain it in case someone else encounters the same problem.

After enabling "install unknown sources" and enabling ADB, I connected my Fire tablet to my desktop PC,
and went into my Windows 10 desktop "Device Manager."

I located my tablet under "Portable Devices" and installed a USB driver
that Windows 10 provided. It was named "MTP USB Driver" for "Media Transfer Protocol" Device Driver.

Once that driver is installed, then somehow I'm suddenly able to install any APK I want!
