    Another must have app: Dropbox

Dropbox lets you share files from your computer to your Fire without have hook up a firewire. Download Dropbox on your computer, then download the app to your computer and sideload it to your Fire. (it wouldn't download to the Fire from the site). Works great!

The interesting thing is that with dropbox you gain an extra two Gb of space for storing file on the Fire. I know the file s aren't stored on the Fire, but it makes it seem that way

I'm embarassed to say that I downloaded Dropbox to my computer months ago, but never did manage to figure out how to use it. Guess that might have something to do with not really needing it to begin with, but nice to have. Going to have to make the effort!

It installed easily for me and works fine. Not sure what the issue would be for you. Maybe try redownloading it (maybe there's a newer version.)

I set up my icloud photo folder on my computer to be in my dropbox folders. When I take a photo from my iphone, it is almost immediately available to view on my Fire.

I've been using Dropbox for nearly two years and am surprised how much I rely on it. It is very handy for transfering files to the Fire.

Why upload to Internet and then download again when you could send it directly too the fire with WiFi file explorer.
