This is a discussion on Best Fire Stylus? within the Amazon Kindle Fire Accessories forums, part of the Amazon Kindle Fire Forum category; I like this one! Amazon.com: BoxWave Slimline Capacitive Amazon Kindle Fire Stylus (Jet Black): Cell Phones & Accessories...
Ordered a glider on your rec guys.

You'll like it. It's been great for me. I'm even using it when playing games on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
What applications are you all using for note taking?
What app you used for note-taking? I need one on my fire, too.
Actually all rubber tip stylus will give you same result... Either the boxwave, splash or any other on the market... So choose the cheapest one!
Pogo sponge style is terrible in long term use, easily wear out, not recommend.
There are two different ones:

Accurate pointing, well-made but a little pricey, one problem is writing angel is limited to <40 degree- not a practical angel for noting taking.

Similar to rubber tip, but performed much much smoother(see in the video there), should be a nice solution for note taking, the price is quite friendly, too.
hope it will help.

Evernote is great. I actually use Catch though. I prefer their layout. The question though is actually note taking with the stylus. I do not believe that Evernote allows actual writing.
Oh, you might be right. I thought i'd seen an option for drawing in there. I guess not now that I look again.

Evernote’s Skitch Debuts On Android – Annotate, Edit & Share Images
hmmm....I'll have to do more research.
Skitch is the app and it seems to really well for quick notes and can sync up with Evernote. Just tried it on my Droid X.
